Production Process
Step 1: Film Feeding
Roll Material Setup: Large rolls of polythene film (HDPE or LDPE) are fed into the machine through an unwinder. These rolls are typically in tubular or flat film form.
Alignment and Tension Control: The film is automatically aligned using sensors and rollers. Tension control ensures the film stays wrinkle-free and properly positioned.
Step 2: Gusseting (Optional)
Folding/Gusseting: If producing gusseted bags (for a pleat that allows expansion), the machine folds the sides of the tubular film. Gusseting creates the iconic "T-shirt" shape, making it easy for the bags to expand when filled.
Step 3: Length Measuring and Cutting
Length Control: The machine automatically measures the film length according to the required bag size. The set length can be adjusted for making various bag sizes.
Cutting: A cutting blade or rotary cutter slices the film into individual pieces. For continuous rolls, it cuts the film after the sealing process.
Step 4: Heat Sealing
Sealing Bars: Heat sealing bars come down to weld the edges of the plastic film, forming the bottom of the bag. The heat and pressure are applied for a short duration to fuse the material.
Seal Type: Depending on the machine settings, the bottom of the bag can be sealed with a simple straight seal or reinforced with additional seals for extra strength.
Step 5: Handle Punching
Punching Unit: A die-punch mechanism cuts the "handles" for the T-shirt-style bags, which are the distinctive loops that users can carry the bags by.
The punching unit cuts the handles at the top of the sealed film, completing the "vest" shape.
Scrap material from the punching process is collected separately for recycling or disposal.
Step 6: Optional Perforation
Perforation: If the bags are intended to be part of a roll (such as trash bags or shopping bags in a continuous roll), the machine can create perforated lines between each bag, allowing users to easily tear off one bag at a time.
Step 7: Stacking and Counting
Bag Stacking: The finished bags are neatly stacked by an automatic stacking mechanism.
Counting and Batching: The machine counts the number of bags produced, batching them according to a pre-set quantity (e.g., 50, 100 bags per batch). Once the batch is complete, the machine separates them for easy packaging.
Step 8: Quality Inspection and Packaging
Quality Control: The machine can be equipped with visual or sensor-based inspection systems to detect faulty seals, inaccurate cuts, or other defects.
Packaging: The stacked batches of bags are packaged for distribution or further processing (e.g., printing or labeling).
Applicable
Shopping Bags: The primary use is for producing shopping bags with handles, used in supermarkets, convenience stores, clothing outlets, and retail businesses. These bags are designed to hold goods with ease and are often made from HDPE or LDPE materials.
